Meta has revised its privacy policy and removed the use of private direct messages on Instagram. The tech giant removed end‑to‑end encryption (E2EE) from messages for Instagram users worldwide on May 8. Instagram now has access to all users' direct message content and will only offer standard encryption.
As of today, end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages is no longer available. DMs that you send to people on Instagram will no longer feature full encryption, and your conversations are not protected from Meta.
