Does it matter if router is set to 10.0.0.1 or to 192.168.1.1?
If you use a VPN to connect to an employer's network, you need to see what subnets they are using. If I use 10,0.0.0/8 or 172.16.0.0/12, I get IP address collisions. I have to use 192.168.0.0/16.
