On December 19, 2025, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 777-300ER (AP-BMS), operating flight PK860 from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Lahore, Pakistan, suffered a loss of pressurization while cruising at about 35,000 feet. The cabin pressure dropped and oxygen masks automatically deployed inside the cabin. The crew initiated an emergency rapid descent at 10,000 feet, where breathable air pressure can be maintained without supplemental oxygen. The crew also squawked 7700 on the transponder.
