Congress has been negotiating over a COVID-19 relief package for months. One of the hold ups? Aid for state and local governments. Mitch McConnell suggested this week that we drop aid for these communities altogether, while Democrats believe we have a fundamental responsibility to help our police officers, firefighters, and sanitation workers in red and blue states get through this crisis.
