New efforts are underway to record and preserve our beautiful Cherokee language. ❤️ The Cherokee Nation Language Department has been meeting with Cherokee Speakers to record their conversations and has already recorded 282 Cherokee Speakers speaking for a total of 352.5 hours, with a goal of reaching 10,000 hours. The hope is that these recordings will assist and be a point of reference for second-language learners in the future. Speakers being recorded for this project must be fluent and posses

Cherokee Nation has begun language courses for at-large Cherokee communities across the U.S. as part of a new program for at-large citizens who want to learn their language.
